Admissions

If you are moving to the Market Weighton area or have a child who is turning school age, you will be looking for a suitable school for them.

At Market Weighton Infant School, we recognise that moving schools or starting school is an important step in your child’s life. Your child will be taking their first steps into the world of education and first impressions count. We want to ensure that they have the very best start to prepare them for the future and to become life-long learners.

We take children from Market Weighton and the surrounding villages of Sancton, Goodmanham and Londesborough. If you are unsure of your school catchment area, visit the East Riding’s school finder. Here, you can type in your postcode to find out your child’s nearest nursery or school. Within Market Weighton, there are 4 schools:

Market Weighton Infant School – ages 3-7

Mount Pleasant CE Junior School (our feeder school) – ages 7-11

St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School – ages 4-11

The Market Weighton School (secondary) ages 11+

If you are undecided about which school to choose, it is advisable to visit them and this will help give you a feel about which one is right for your child. For more information about admissions procedures for the school, click on the tab on the left. Visits and enquiries are always welcome. Please contact us on 01430 873159.

At Market Weighton Infant School we have our own nursery which takes children who are “rising fours” (ie. will be four during the academic year 1st September – 31st July).
